Matthew: A business consultant by day, high energy family man by night. I am a down to earth 31 year old. Melanie moved us from the yuppie suburbs to the country and I am loving the space and the peace of our equestrian community.
Melanie: Salon owner half of the day, business owner the other half (I have a specialty mural and painting business, as well as maintain various sales for cellular phones). I am a full time Mom by night. Matthew has given me the opportunity to explore my artistic abilities as well as offer me the chance to be a full time Mom with a very flexible schedule.
Ryan: a wonderful 15 year old cutie. He has an active life, playing hockey, baseball, track, and whatever else he feels like giving a shot at. He is an A student and all around great son.
Baby Girl: Expected Mid Jan 2003. We expect great things from her. A loving home, a great brother, and a chance to be whatever she chooses.
Dogs:
Sable - a 76 lbs Doberman she is 9 years old and the biggest lover of the group. She has had 4 litters, of which we kept one.
Sydney - an 8 year old Black Lab, lazy bones. Another lover but our little protector.
Dragon - a 4 year old 115 lbs Doberman. Sable's son. Dragon, a goof at heart, and although extremely intelligent his energy makes him a nonstop bouncing ball of love.

Where we live ! ! ! !
Odessa FL: We are perfectly situated just Northwest of Tampa FL in an equestrian community. We are a 15 minute ride to the Tampa Int'l Airport. One of the top 10 beaches in the US (Honeymoon / Caladise Island) is located 22 minutes to the West, with numerous other world class beaches just as close. We have the Gulf of Mexico at our disposal as well as many intercoastal waterways. Downtown Tampa is 25 minutes to the East with many tourist attractions, night clubs, and cultural events. Disney World and Universal Studio's as well as the tourist trap of the world Orlando FL is an hour and half away. Miami / Ft Lauderdale the Atlantic playground of FL is a 4-5 hour trip. With Daytona and it's beaches only a 3 hour trip across the state.
What we are looking for in an Au-pair
We are looking for a down to earth, fun loving, respectful, and honest person. We are a very easy going couple with a busy but extremely flexible schedule. We think the idea of an au-pair would be as much helpful as it would be fun. I think the idea of exposing our daughter to a different culture as well as exposing ourselves would be great. Melanie and I feel that an au-pair is here not just to assist us in child care but to give someone an opportunity to travel abroad inexpensively. Childcare duties would certainly be required but not a heavy load maybe 20-30 hours a week. Melanie loves to paint and would to have someone to paint with her, an artistic background would be a nice fit but not a requirement. Mostly we would like someone who can feel like a part of our family so that we can enjoy their company as well as they enjoying ours.
